The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) have proposed a new route to obtaining CPA licensure, focusing on real-world experience rather than extended education. Under the proposed changes, candidates could qualify for licensure with a bachelor's degree and two years of work experience, rather than the additional coursework traditionally required.
