CE Requirements
40 credit hours every 2-year cycle.
License Renewal Period
Renew your license by 1st March of each Calendar Year.
CE Reporting Cycle
The Two-Year reporting cycle runs from January 1 of odd-numbered years to December 31 of even-numbered years.
Ethics Requirement
A minimum of 2 hours of ethics training in each cycle. There is no annual minimum.
Carry Over Credits
Carry-over of excess CPE hours is not allowed across cycles.
Subject Area Restriction
There is no minimum content requirement.

Simplifying Regulations for 2026

CE Requirement
Certified Pension Consultant (CPC)™ credential holders must complete 40 CE hours every two years.
Initial CE HoursIf your first designation is awarded in an odd year, you must complete 20 hours in that cycle.
If awarded in an even year, you have 0 hours required for that cycle.
Ethics Requirement
2 CE hours must be in ethics during each 2-year cycle. View more.
Learning Modes
The maximum total amount of CE reported per event must be no more than twenty-five (25) credit hours.
Eligible Learning ActivitiesWebinars/webcasts, conferences, teaching, publishing articles, volunteering, and more. No single event may exceed 25 hours of CE credit.
CE Deadline 
Designation holders will have until March 1 of each calendar year to report CE for the prior calendar year CE cycle.
Reporting Period
The CE cycle begins January 1 of odd-numbered years and ends December 31 of the following even-numbered year.
License Renewal
License to be renewed by March 1st every year. Failure to pay the required fees by March 1 of each calendar year will result in the suspension of the members’ designation(s).
Carry Over Credits 
CE credits may not be carried over from one cycle to the next.
Record RetentionDocumentation for third-party CE (i.e., CE earned from sources other than ASPPA) must be retained for at least 2 years after the cycle ends. 
Renewal Fees
Renewal fees for ASPPA credentials is $750.
