Simplifying Regulations for 2026

Initial CE Hours⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠

If your first NTSA designation is awarded in an odd year, complete 20 CE hours for the cycle ending the following year. If awarded in an even year, 0 hours are required for the cycle ending that year.

Learning Modes⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠

All CE can be completed through self-study programs.

Eligible Learning Activities⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠

Qualified third-party continuing education may count when it is offered by an eligible provider, such as a recognized professional association, college or university, government agency, commercial enterprise, or the credential holder’s employer. There is no pre-approval process, but the provider must verify attendance and time on task, the program must cover relevant subject matter, credit is calculated at 1 CE per 50 minutes, and a maximum of 25 CE credits is allowed per event, training program, or study group.

Complete CE within the applicable cycle ending December 31. Report prior-cycle CE by March 1 of the following year.

If the deficiency that caused the suspension is not corrected within the allowed timeframe, the designation can be revoked.
