CPD requirements vary by approach: 

  • Input-based: 70 hours annually (20 structured, 50 unstructured). 
  • Output-based: No prescribed hours. 
  • Combination: Mix of structured and unstructured CPD annually.

Eligible Learning Activities

Eligible learning activities include- 

Structured CPD - Courses, webinars, formal studies, teaching professional content, or writing technical papers. 

Unstructured CPD - Informal or self-directed learning without external verification, such as reading relevant journals, networking, informal discussions, or on-the-job training and more.

CPE Deadline
CPE credits must be completed annually by December 31.

Input CPD is based on a 3-year rolling average, so as long as you undertake the minimum of 20 hours of structured or unstructured CPD in any one year, you may have enough hours from the previous 2 years. Output CPD requires you to assess and complete your CPD every year, so you would not have met your requirement last year if you had chosen the output basis.
