Learning Objectives

  • To gain the skills to identify and articulate your family's unique identity, values, and areas of focus.
  • To identify strategies to engage with generational shifts in values, priorities, and charitable interests, fostering a sense of continuity while embracing change.
  • To explore successful approaches to charitable giving, and discover effective communication strategies.

Course Overview

Giving back is personal.  What is your family known for?  What are their values, issue areas, and focus?  What does legacy mean?  And, how are we listening to the second and third generations and what they deem to be important?

Philanthropy can be a powerful way for families to pass along their shared beliefs and values. It can also provide unique opportunities for families to spend time together, collaborate, and learn more about one another. Integrating philanthropic conversations and activities into family life is an excellent way to encourage healthy attitudes about helping others and instill financial responsibility among younger generations. And giving together can be a bonding experience for family members of all generations.

Key Topics covered in this Course:

Excellent presentation. The headset and microphone made it extremely easy to hear the presenter. He was very well informed on his topic of giving. The slides were well laid out and did not contain too much material, but enough. I will certainly consider other courses that he teaches. It also helped that you could see him in the top right of the screen as he gave the presentation.
