Course Overview

Despite gains in labor participation over the last few decades, women continue to experience a gender pay gap which impacts the income stream available to save, spend, and invest at rates comparable to men.

Retirement and other long-term investment goals suffer, as a result. Unfortunately, the pandemic has reversed key trends in women-owned businesses and their labor participation rates overall. Studies continue to show that financial literacy is a cornerstone of economic stability and despite gains in other areas of life, women of all ages still report looking to someone else for assistance in understanding and guiding their finances.

The stock market, through direct or indirect ownership, is an integral part of many portfolios and the source of constant uncertainties (will the market go up or down; why isn’t my investment. performing well).

In this CPE course, speaker Ilene Slatko will explore what stocks are and how they are affected by internal and external factors. We demystify investing from a bird’s eye view and explain how to diversify to build portfolios that work for the long term. We’ll look at different types of analyses and what they interpret.

This CPE webinar builds on the groundwork we established in previous Women and Their Money sessions, it is a complete primer on stocks and the markets for those who wish to forgo the basic building blocks.

Participants will have a clear understanding of different types of stocks, how they fit into portfolios, what strategies can be used for diversification, and why women make better stock investors. Often misunderstood, stock investing can be an invaluable tool when used properly, especially in the context of our retirement planning. We continue to build each participant’s puzzle toward financial empowerment, a process that will continue throughout the 8 sessions.

Wherever you are in your understanding and mastery of your financial life, this CPE Finance course, Stock Market Investing, and Retirement Planning will give you the tools and knowledge to make the choices necessary to have a successful financial future.

  • Fundamental Analysis Indicators for All Investors
