Doeren Mayhew Enters Tennessee Market with Acquisition of Thurman Campbell Group

Doeren Mayhew has completed its expansion into the Tennessee market with the acquisition of Thurman Campbell Group PLC (TCG), effective March 1, reinforcing its national presence and connecting key regional markets. The move advances the Troy, Michigan-based firm’s long-term strategy to grow its southern footprint while strengthening its sector expertise, particularly in construction.

With FY23 net revenue of $137.4 million, Doeren Mayhew continues to execute a deliberate expansion plan. “Expanding to Tennessee has been a long-term goal for our firm,” said CEO Chad Anschuetz. “Nashville, and the surrounding area, is a fast-growing market characterized by business sectors complementary to our existing hubs. TCG is the ideal partner to enter the market with. They have an exceptional reputation and team in the region focused on delivering client-centric solutions.”

The acquisition establishes Doeren Mayhew’s presence across five new office locations from the Nashville metropolitan area to Hopkinsville, Kentucky. TCG’s integration will also expand the firm’s construction industry practice by 10%, supporting Doeren Mayhew’s standing among the top construction accounting firms in the nation.

Bob Yates, managing principal of TCG, emphasized the cultural and strategic fit between the two firms. “Doeren Mayhew is a well-respected firm in the business with values and a culture reflective of our own, which makes this an exciting opportunity for our clients and team,” he stated. “With the resources of a national firm, we are excited to offer our clients an expansive suite of services to meet their evolving needs while preserving the personal relationships integral to our success.”

Yates will continue with the firm as managing principal responsible for regional growth and oversight. The acquisition adds 46 professionals to Doeren Mayhew’s workforce, including 11 principals, bringing the firm’s headcount to over 725 employees across 17 offices both in the U.S. and internationally.

This strategic acquisition not only strengthens Doeren Mayhew’s service capabilities but also solidifies its commitment to long-term, sustainable growth in key U.S. markets.

Until next time…
