Inspired to gain skills to bring programs to scale that create real impact, she got her MBA and co-founded what is now the Global Social Venture Competition, the largest international business plan competition for double or triple-bottom-line businesses.
Prior to launching Project Equity, Alison held executive roles at mission-driven businesses that are designed to have a human impact at scale, including Benetech (where she built and launched their first product, a digital book service for individuals with visual or reading disabilities), Great Schools (the 6th largest parenting website, a nonprofit using information to drive school improvement), and InsideTrack (a venture-backed scaled services company that has delivered 1:1 coaching to millions of college students, resulting in increased college completion rates). She brings those scaling lessons back full circle to her work at Project Equity, turning businesses into community change agents through employee ownership.
A serial ‘social entrepreneur,’ Alison co-founded a thriving PreK-8th grade dual immersion school in Oakland (Escuela Bilingüe Internacional) that serves over 360 students. Alison has her B.A. from Harvard University and her MBA from the Haas School of Business. She has been selected as 2014 Echoing Green Fellow, a 2017-18 Aspen Institute Job Quality Fellow, a 2019 Ashoka Fellow, and a 2022-23 Rutgers Executive Fellow. She is also a recipient of the 2022 Heinz Award for the Economy.
Brandt Brereton is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Brereton, Hanley and Company. Working in the capital markets since 1987, he has more than two decades of experience in providing strategic and financial advice to owners of closely held private and public companies and in negotiating their divestitures to Fortune 500 buyers. Mr. Brereton’s financial advisory experience spans many industries from Agriculture, Food and Beverages to Construction, Tax Consulting, Financial Services and Facilities Services.

2. Answer all the review questions correctly. The review questions are at the bottom of the same page where you are viewing the course video.
3. Once you have watched the whole video and answered all the review questions, the Final Quiz will open up. You need to score more than 70%
in the Final Quiz to avail your CPE credit. Multiple attempts are allowed for submitting Review and Final Quiz questions.
4. Once you have completed the Review and Final quiz questions, you shall be able to download the credit certificate from the ‘My Certificates’ section. Kindly ensure you have allowed Multiple File download from your web browser to download all certificates.
5. You can download individual certificate from your "Account" as well as from this page once you complete a particular courses. Also, you can download "Consolidated Certificate" from the package page or from your account.
A Self-study course is a recorded video (If it’s a recording of a live course you may see polling questions appearing on the screen. You do not need to answer the polling questions and just let the video play). Do not fast forward. If you fast forward, we may not be able to capture your watch time and you may be required to watch it multiple times. In order to avail your credits for the self-study course, you need to answer the review questions correctly and complete the entire video. Once you have done that, the Final Quiz will open up in which you need to score a minimum 70% to qualify for the credit. You can attempt multiple times for answering the review questions and Final quiz questions. Once you have completed the Review and Final quiz questions, you shall be able to download the credit certificate from ‘My Certificates’ section.
