CPE Requirements 80 hours for every 2 years.
License Renewal PeriodDecember 31 biennially.
CPE Reporting CycleJuly 1 – June 30 biennially.
Ethics RequirementFour (4) credit hours every 2 years in a Florida-specific ethics course approved by the board.
Carryover CreditsNo, Florida CPA cannot carry over excess CPE credits in the next reporting cycle. 
Subject Area Restriction
  • At least 8 hours in Accounting & Auditing. 
  • Maximum of 20 hours in behavioral subject areas. 
  • Min.24 hours in Governmental CPE if involved in Govt. Auditing.

Simplifying Regulations for 2024

Florida CPE RequirementFlorida CPAs are required to complete 80 hours of CPE every two years.
Initial CPE HoursFor New licenses use the day of the year a license was issued or reactivated, then go three June 30ths into the future to determine the due date for your first reporting cycle.

Renew your CPA license biennially by December 31. If not renewed by this date, a penalty fee of $80 will be applicable.

Florida does not allow credit carryovers.
