The Certified Controls Specialist (CCS) designation is designed for professionals tasked with overseeing, assessing, or appraising internal control structures and systems. Individuals who typically qualify for the CCS designation encompass a broad spectrum of roles, such as Internal Auditors, External Auditors, Operational Auditors, Compliance Auditors, Consultants, Forensic Accountants and Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs), Inspector Generals, and Audit Committee Members. This includes various categories of auditors like those focused on financial, operational, IT, fraud, and risk management areas. Additionally, the designation is open to non-auditors who bear the responsibility of formally or informally scrutinizing internal controls and systems, gauging their sufficiency, and suggesting enhancements to bolster their effectiveness.
