This presentation was a good overview of the tax requirements for a deceased person. The presenter discussed form 1040, form 1041 and form 706 tax returns and what is required for each. The presenter discussed various elections that may need to be taken, such as portability, and reviewed the requirements of such elections. There was helpful discussion about typical practitioner errors that can occur and what tax practitioners should look for when filing these type of tax returns.
