Learning about GAAP was really interesting! At first, I thought accounting was just about numbers, but these rules are what make sure financial reports are honest and clear. For example, the Revenue Recognition rule makes sure companies report money when they actually earn it, not when they get paid. The Matching principle helps match expenses with the money they make in the same period. The Going Concern assumption makes sure we assume companies will keep running in the future, and the Monetary Unit assumption means we use stable money values to make financial reports easier to understand. The materiality rule is cool because it says we only need to worry about the big stuff and not get stuck on tiny details that don’t matter. Overall, I now understand how these rules make financial statements clear and fair for everyone.
