Learning Objective

  • To analyze how to craft and update respect in the workplace policies that promote an inclusive workplace for employees and other stakeholders.
  • To review workplace training on diversity, inclusion, and elimination of bias to help all employees feel welcome and able to perform at their peak levels and be their authentic selves.
  • To discuss workplace policies and conduct investigations to assure that respect in the workplace policies is more than just words on a piece of paper or posted on a website.
  • To create a culture where employees feel free to report offensive conduct without fear of retaliation or job loss.
  • To address issues early and fairly to reduce the risk of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation claims.

Course Overview

We all have heard the buzzwords "Diversity" and "Inclusion" with many organizations touting their commitment to having an equitable environment free of bias.  But unfortunately, talk is cheap, and far too many workplaces have stated policies, but the experience does not live up to the ideals.

For a workplace to have a culture that is genuinely diverse and inclusive, employers have to go further.  They need to have robust respect for the workplace policies, update those policies often, invest in training, enforce the rules that prohibit discrimination and harassment, conduct investigations swiftly and fairly, and assure that those who report misconduct are not subjected to retaliation.

This CPE/CPD Business Management webinar will cover what employees and employers need to do to reach these goals and create an environment where all stakeholders feel respected and able to perform as their best selves.

Following are the major questions that are answered in this online course:

  • What is Respect in the Workplace?
  • What to Include in Workplace Respect Policies?
  • What Does Bullying Have to Do with Workplace Respect?
  • What Do We Mean by Bias and Implicit or Unconscious Bias?
  • Has Interpersonal Conduct in the Business World Declined Over Time?
  • What Happens When There is Disrespect?
  • Why Should We Care about Workplace Respect?
