Course Overview

2020-2022 saw an unprecedented increase in ransomware attacks – 236.1 million in 2022 alone.2021 was a breakout year for ransomware as the cyber security attack vector wreaked havoc on individuals and organizations around the world. It's a trend that will continue in 2022 and beyond.

A damaging few years of global chaos such as the pandemic, natural disasters, and political instability have increased the frequency and intensity of ransomware and cyber-attacks at large. According to the annual Verizon Data Breach Report, more than 80% of these involved the human element or social engineering.

This Online Information Technology webinar is designed for individuals who would like to obtain a basic understanding of cyber-security. We will be discussing some of the more common types of cybercrimes such as ransomware, spyware, computer viruses, phishing, denial of service attacks, hacking, and social engineering.
