Course Overview

Are you concerned about fraud risks and want to learn more about the latest fraud trends?

Look no further than our Fraud Trends for the Future Series, in this part 1 of the series we dive into the evolving tactics used by fraudsters and provide strategies to mitigate associated risks.

In this course, we focus on the alarming rise of account takeover fraud and explore the impact of automation on fraudulent activities. The course will identify fraud trends for 2023 and beyond, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the landscape.

The following trends are covered in this webinar:

  • Automation: Adoption of New Digital Payment Methods
  • Balancing Fraud and Consumer Friction
  • The Rise of Synthetic Identities
  • The Escalating Cost of Fraud
  • The Strong Need for Real-Time Assessment
  • The Importance of Multi-Layered Fraud Assessment, and Enhancing Account Security

Delving into account takeover fraud, we explore its causes, methodologies, and the devastating impact it can have on individuals and organizations. Account takeover involves identity theft, wherein fraudsters gain unauthorized access to personal and company accounts, compromising sensitive information and leading to financial losses. The consequences of account takeover range from bank account breaches and money laundering to theft of loyalty points and subscription information.

In addition to account takeover, this course also explores automation and machine learning in fraud detection. Understanding how machine learning works and its application in combating fraud is crucial in today's rapidly evolving landscape. We analyze automation trends and various machine-learning tools, exploring both black-box and white-box approaches while discussing their challenges and benefits.
