Course Overview

Have you ever wondered about the intricate dance between Morals and Ethics? Join us on this enlightening journey and discover why understanding these distinctions is crucial for navigating life's complexities.

Morals and ethics are often used interchangeably, but they have distinct differences. Morals are individual values that help distinguish right from wrong, shaped by various factors like family, education, and religion. While some moral principles, such as "stealing is wrong" or "murder is wrong," are widely shared, they may not always hold true in complex situations. Ethics, on the other hand, represent a societal or group framework of values that determine proper conduct, regardless of individual viewpoints. These standards evolve over time and can differ among nations.

In this CPE Course discover how societal and group ethics play a pivotal role in shaping our behavior. Unearth the ethical guidelines that influence our everyday choices, whether in personal relationships or professional settings. Gain the knowledge to make ethical decisions that align with broader societal values. Historical examples like alcohol production and Nike's labor practices demonstrate the interplay between morals, ethics, and societal values. While alcohol production was considered immoral during prohibition, it became ethically acceptable afterward. Nike's use of child labor, though legally compliant, faced moral condemnation in the United States, leading to higher ethical standards.
