Course Description

In this online Excel CPE webinar, Excel expert David Ringstrom, CPA, will expand your knowledge of pivot tables and show you step-by-step how to manipulate pivot table data faster and more efficiently. You’ll learn how to extract data from Microsoft Access databases and other sources, minimize repetitive steps in Excel by creating keyboard shortcuts, and adapt simple macros that can be recorded. In addition, David discusses several helpful Excel features, including the Table feature, PivotTable feature, Slicer feature, Linked Picture feature, the PowerPivot feature, and others.

David demonstrates every technique at least twice in this online continuing education: first, on a PowerPoint slide with numbered steps, and second, in the subscription-based Microsoft 365 version of Excel. David draws your attention to any differences in the older versions of Excel (2019, 2016, 2013, and earlier) during the Excel online CPE course as well as in his detailed handouts. David also provides an Excel workbook that includes most of the examples he uses during the webcast.

Microsoft 365 is a subscription-based product that provides new feature updates as often as monthly. Conversely, the perpetual licensed versions of Excel have feature sets that don’t change. Perpetual licensed versions have year numbers, such as Excel 2019, Excel 2016, and so on.

Topics Covered in this online Excel CPE webinar:

  • Creating dynamic and interactive graphs with Excel’s PivotChart feature.
  • Discovering the Recommended PivotTables feature.
  • Launching macros that clean up pivot tables with a single mouse click.
  • Learning the nuances associated with subtotaling data within a pivot table.
  • Learning how the Table feature can vastly improve the integrity of pivot tables in Excel.
  • Incorporating calculations within or alongside pivot tables.
  • Learning how to expand and collapse pivot table elements, thereby avoiding information overload.
  • Gaining control of unruly pivot table data by creating a macro that can automatically transform all count fields into sums and apply number formatting in one fell swoop.
  • Mitigating the side effects of converting a table back to a normal range of cells.
  • Compiling unwieldy data into the format required for pivot table analysis quickly and easily.
  • Staving off frustration by filling blank cells within any columns that contain numbers with zeros before you create pivot tables.

Learning Objectives

  • To identify how to summarize pivot table data in new ways by grouping based on dates or custom arrangements that you define.
  • To recognize when and why to apply the Slicer feature.
  • To recall how to clean up your pivot tables with a mouse click.

I thought the course was good, however I would prefer to be able to do what you were showing me myself. This of course isn't the courses fault, this is how I like to learn myself. I would definitely recommend you to others. David was amazing! the course content is relevant and his workbook is perfect.

CC

A very details and great course! if you want to learn Excel and you are working in Finance/accounting field, this is the course you should enroll. HW

I am highly impressed with the course content and its coverage. I am heartily thankful to the author of the course for this wonderful creation. only one thing is that, Macros part is very less. It can be more elaborated. otherwise I am fully satisfied with the course. The training is very detailed, comprehensive and a good course for someone who wants to develop proper excel skill.

TI

I'm pretty impressed with the value proposition.

100% learning new material... was already of the basic copy and paste options, but using the 'alt E+S+V' as paste special values is something new to me, instead of right clicking and choosing the necessary option.
