This online webinar is designed to help HR professionals, CPAs, and business owners understand the dangers of classifying a worker as an independent contractor when they really are an employee. You will also learn how to analyze each type of worker’s job duties to determine whether the DOL, IRS, etc. will likely determine that the worker is an employee. This CPE course is a must for anyone who does not have extensive experience with Labor department audits or FLSA lawsuits. Through this CPE webinar, you will get updated on the Trump DOL’s new Independent Contractor test, and how that stands now with a Biden presidency.
We review examples of scenarios that can trigger an independent contractor audit and the penalties that can be assessed if the worker is determined to be misclassified. To complete the course, we discuss various examples of state regulations as they pertain to worker classification. This online continuing education course serves as a sound basis to assist human resources, payroll, or finance professionals in determining how to properly classify a worker as an independent contractor.

I would recommend slowing down the cadence a tad. I was having trouble following the material and keeping up with content. I loved the enthusiasm, and presentation style. Maybe omitting one or two examples and slowing the speech down just a bit would be helpful for readers. I intend to go back and review the presentation document. Content and delivery was spot on. Much appreciated!

This program was well presented and provided significant guidance regarding the classification of employees and independent contractors in the workforce. This was an excellent presentation utilizing actual documentation and not just based on the theory of the presenter.

Great presentation of information, very succinct, informative, and I loved the "bucket" analogy. Very easy to comprehend that way!
