Course Description

On March 29, 2022, The House of Representatives passed HR 2954, Securing A Strong Retirement Act of 2022 (also known as SECURE 2.0) 415-5. This bill needs to be passed by the Senate before it is enacted into law. Since this bill was passed overwhelmingly bipartisan, there is a very good chance this will be soon enacted into law.

This CE/CPE Tax webinar will highlight the many provisions that will affect your client's retirement tax planning. There will be a higher catch-up limit. The age for the required beginning date will be increased. We will see a further Rothification of retirement plans.

Following are the key highlights of SECURE 2.0:

  • Higher Catch-Up Limit for Participants Age 62, 63 and 64
  • Treatment of Student Loan Payments as Elective Deferrals for Purposes of Matching Contributions
  • Small Immediate Financial Incentives for Contributing to a Plan
