Course Overview

Mental health in the workplace is top of mind for everyone these days. While our understanding of mental health at work is changing, and how widespread poor mental health is, it's worth taking a look at the basics.

The days of not talking about mental health are gone. Or, at least they should be. Positive mental health is important because it allows individuals to cope with challenges, even good ones, and setbacks in their lives, both at work and at home. Supporting mental health in the workplace is no longer a nice to have but a necessity.

The instructor acknowledged that she was speaking to an audience of accountants and not policy or decision makers, however she presented the material in terms of co-worker to co-worker. The discussion really made me take a step back and to rethink some things including the isolation of remote working and how that can impact not only my co-workers but myself also.
