Course Description

Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value to and improve an organization's operations. Internal audit offers risk management and evaluates the effectiveness of a company's internal controls, corporate governance, and accounting processes. Internal audits provide management and board of directors with a value-added service where flaws in a process may be caught and corrected prior to external audits.

Despite their best intentions, internal auditors fail to convey this understanding to their client in marketing their importance and role. Key questions such as following may help internal auditors in clarifying the projection of their role.

  • Does our organization understand the role of internal audit?
  • How can we make sure the organization understands how internal audit can assist the organization in meeting its objectives?

  • Introduction to marketing
  • Introduction to branding
  • Defining department and yourself
  • Controlling and developing image
