CPE Requirements40 Hours Per year.
License Renewal PeriodDecember 31, Annually.
CPE Reporting CycleOctober 1 to September 30, Annually.
Ethics RequirementTwo (2) hours in every reporting cycle.
Carry Over CreditsAlabama CPA cannot carry forward credits in the next reporting cycle.
Subject Area Restriction
  • Can take up to 12 hours of CPE in behavioral/personal development/production/spirituality; the rest of the courses shall directly contribute toward professional competence.
  • Subjects such as health and/or fitness, sports, and recreations, and foreign language, which will not contribute directly shall not be allowed.

Alabama CPE RequirementAlabama CPAs are required to complete 40 hours of CPE annually.  
Initial CPE Hours Complete 40 CPE hours by one year after the next September 30. View more
