Adam Michel is the Director of Tax Policy Studies at the Cato Institute, where he has led research on tax issues since 2023. Previously, he held key roles as Deputy Staff Director for the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee and as a Policy Analyst at The Heritage Foundation. His experience also includes program management at the Mercatus Center and internships with organizations such as the Tax Foundation and U.S. House of Representatives.


He holds a master's degree in Economics from George Mason University, a BA in Politics from Whitman College, and further studied at American University. Adam’s skills include politics, research, and community outreach, and he is a certified Wilderness First Responder.
