Puerto Rico CPAs CPE Requirements Highlights:

  • 120 hours for Public and Private Practice CPAs.
  • 3 hours of ethics. 

Public Practice CPAs:

  • Min. 40 hours in Accounting, Auditing, and Tax.
  • Min. 28 hours in Accounting and Auditing and 12 hours allocated to Taxes. 
  • Alternatively, 28 hours in Tax and 12 hours in Accounting and Auditing.

Private Practice CPAs: 

  • Min. 30 hours, up to 60 hours in industry-specific subjects.

Other requirements:

  • Max. 24 hours in communication, behavioral sciences, public relations, and sales of securities. 
  • Reporting Cycle - August 1 to July 31 Triennially.
  • Max. 50% (60 hours) can be completed through self-study.
  • Courses must be from NASBA-approved Providers.
  • Interactive NASBA QAS-approved courses receive full credit, while non-interactive or non-QAS-approved courses receive half credit.

8/1 to 7/31 triennially.

CPE REQUIREMENTS :

120 hours for Public and Private Practice CPAs.

ETHICS REQUIREMENTS :

3 hours of ethics.

SUBJECT AREA REQUIREMENTS :

Public Practice CPAs:

  • Min. 40 hours in Accounting, Auditing, and Tax.
