Learning Objectives

  • Identify common commercial bank fee structures, pricing methods, and Earnings Credit Rate considerations.
  • Analyze bank analysis statements to detect pricing anomalies, duplicate service charges, and hidden cost drivers.
  • Apply data extraction and categorization procedures using PDF statements, BSB files, and EDI 822 reporting formats.
  • Evaluate trend analysis, variance monitoring, and benchmark metrics to support monthly fee validation.
  • Formulate data-driven bank negotiation and cost reduction strategies using historical pricing and service utilization evidence.

Course Overview

Commercial bank fees can quietly erode margins when organizations do not have a consistent process for reviewing analysis statements, pricing schedules, earnings credits, and treasury service charges. This course explains why bank fee analysis becomes complex when relationships are fragmented across multiple accounts, regions, and financial institutions.

Participants will review commercial bank fee structures, service categories, Earnings Credit Rate offsets, and the key components of bank analysis statements. The course also covers how to extract data from PDF statements, BSB files, and EDI 822 bank billing files while building repeatable workflows for categorization, validation, internal controls, and exception reporting.

Major Topic:

  • Commercial bank fee structures and treasury pricing
  • Earnings Credit Rate calculations and offsets
  • Bank analysis statements, BSB files, and EDI 822 reporting
  • Fee analysis workflows and validation controls
  • Pricing anomalies, benchmarking, and bank negotiation strategies

The course provides practical strategies for detecting pricing anomalies, hidden charges, duplicate services, and underutilized treasury tools. Participants will also learn how benchmarking, dashboards, and objective fee data can support stronger bank negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and continuous treasury performance monitoring.
