Course Overview

The Business Valuation section presents guidance on performing valuations of closely held businesses and intangible assets, including an overview of the valuation process, the factors to consider before accepting the valuation engagement, and the various methods of valuation. Additionally, it includes tools, aids, and valuation approaches that would facilitate the business valuation process. The market approach is one of three valuation approaches.

This Online Continuing Education Webinar course is designed to be an introductory course on the Market Approach used in business valuations and business calculations.

The market approach is a valuation method used to determine the appraisal value of a business, intangible asset, business ownership interest, or security by considering the market prices of comparable assets or businesses that have been sold recently or those that are still available. Price-related indicators like sales, book values, and price-to-earnings are usually utilized.
