Course Overview

If you have never experienced or observed bullying at work you may think it is just a schoolyard problem.  Unfortunately, that is not the case.

Bullying can and does occur in all phases of life, not just with children. Many adults are targeted by workplace bullies and observe others being targeted.  Far too often, certain groups are more likely than others to be on the receiving end of aggressive and harassing behavior by bullies.  Bullying is based on a perceived imbalance of power between the bully and their target.

People in historically marginalized groups – whether based on gender, race, age, nationality, LGBTQ+, disability, or other factors - are more likely to perceive that they are being targeted.  Others may be targeted based on their appearance, clothing, manner of speech, or other personal qualities.
