Course Overview

Almost all employers are eligible for union organization—there is no minimum size or type of industry required for a union to represent employees. However, there are strategies employers can use to minimize the likelihood that a union would be accepted by employees.

Employees join unions because they are dissatisfied with how management treats employees and believe that the union can make conditions in the workplace better. While pay and benefits are often hot topics in union organizing tactics, employees are most influenced to join a union when the company is perceived to be unfair, unresponsive, or offering substandard working conditions to employees.

Managers every day are challenged in maintaining their employees Union Free Status.

In this CPE webinar on Business Management, we will have varied discussions and learn or gain a refresher as to the Initial warning signs of Union Organizing which occur well before a Union gets the appropriate number of signed Authorization Cards and the NLRB Conducts a secret Election.

Learn why “the best Election is the one……that is never held”.

This CPE course will outline and discuss over twenty Initial Warning Signs of Union Organizing. We will engage in discussions as to what you can do and what you cannot do during a Union Campaign. There will be an introduction to the potential unfair labor practices that management can be held accountable for and why.

We will have discussions as to Union Authorization Cards and why employees sign them. There will be additional topics discussed such as the NLRB Election and what constraints the Employer is held to during this Campaign. The CPE webinar closes with a satirical presentation and discussion of “How to Ensure A Union in Your Workplace” (“What you do not ever want to do in the Workplace”).
