Course Description

Are you working on Excel? Or is it working for you? In this online CPE webinar Excel expert David H. Ringstrom, CPA shares nearly three dozen different shortcuts for reclaiming your day in Excel. David will cover keyboard shortcuts, mouse techniques, and will show you how to unearth hidden features within Microsoft Excel. He also offers an open forum for questions, so feel free to share what’s slowing you down in Excel.

David demonstrates every technique at least twice in this continuing education course: first, on a PowerPoint slide with numbered steps, and second, in the Microsoft 365 (formerly known as Office 365) version of Excel. David draws your attention to any differences in the older versions of Excel (2019, 2016, 2013, and earlier) during the online webinar as well as in his detailed handouts. David also provides an Excel workbook that includes most of the examples he uses during the online continuing education course.

Microsoft 365 is a subscription-based product that provides new feature updates as often as monthly. Conversely, the perpetual licensed versions of Excel have feature sets that don’t change. Perpetual licensed versions have year numbers, such as Excel 2019, Excel 2016, and so on.

Highlights of the online Excel CPE webinar
  • Applying formatting to multiple locations within a worksheet by way of the Format Painter feature.
  • Avoiding frustration by understanding the nuances between enter and Edit modes.
  • Capitalizing on keyboard shortcuts to make navigating within a table easier.
  • Creating a shortcut to allow you to clear the decks in Excel by closing all open documents at once.

  • Simplifying repetitive tasks by creating your own keyboard shortcuts.
  • Streamlining redundant data entry with a handy keyboard shortcut.

Overall the webinar was really fantastic. The presenter was great and possessed the skills and competencies for this program. He was knowledgeable and was able to answer questions on the spot. A very good lecturer.

JM

I learned a lot from this webinar. I felt the handout was a bit confusing. When the instructor went through it, it was clear, but I felt like the handouts could have been more user friendly for after the webinar when I want to go back and review.
