The pandemic has changed the way of the business and the business execution. However, perpetrators have tried to make the best of this situation. Business email compromise has been one of the most utilized approaches by the perpetrators.

Business email compromise attacks are a form of cyber-crime. It uses email fraud to attack the commercial, government, and non-profit organizations to achieve a specific outcome that negatively impacts the target organization. It is designed to impersonate senior executives and trick employees, customers, or vendors into wiring payment for goods or services to alternate bank accounts. Business Email Compromise has increased almost 50% since the beginning of the pandemic. Because of the shifts in workplace location and reassignment of duties, organizations are incredibly vulnerable.

Simple social engineering, spear-phishing, phishing, and other Man-in-the-Middle attacks are getting large dollar amounts incredibly quickly.

He is a 2008 graduate of Southern Nazarene University. He is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and holds a certificate as a certified fraud examiner.
