Course Description

Course Description

Remembering names is one of the best ways to establish rapport in professional settings, and yet, it is one of the most difficult memory challenges to master. Learning names, and other new words, use different parts of the brain and require different strategies compared to other forms of learning.

Join author and research psychologist, Dr. Michelle Miller in tackling the challenge of putting names to faces, expanding vocabulary, and finding just the right word at the right time. This CPE course will explain the mental mechanisms behind word learning and teach powerful techniques that participants can put into practice right away.

Following are the major topics covered in this CPE Online Course:

  • Why learning names is so challenging
  • How the mind and brain take in new words
  • Techniques for learning new names – and why they work
  • Techniques for adding new words to your vocabulary
  • Why do words get stuck “on the tip of the tongue” – and what these memory glitches mean

The online CPD Personal Development webinar features interactive exercises throughout, capped off with an opportunity to test yourself in a challenging and realistic name-learning activity.
