It is not necessary to submit all documentation for proof of completion when recertifying. However, the certificate is fully responsible for retaining all documentation (certificates, letters of completion, official transcripts, etc.) and submitting to APA's Certification Department if they are randomly selected for a mandatory audit.
The CPP is responsible for maintaining an accurate record of each program attended along with the required documentation as outlined above that qualifies for CPP recertification.
The license renewal fee is $150.
A CPP can complete 100% of the total required RCH credit hours via self-study courses. i.e., a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) can complete all 120 RCHs via self-study courses from APA-approved RCH sponsors as myCPE is approved by APA (Approval number 372961).

No, a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) cannot carry over excess credit earned in a particular renewal cycle.
If the individual did not complete the 120 hours of RCH requirements by December 31st, he/she will not qualify for recertification through continuing education. In such a case, the CPP designation will be removed from APA's records. To become certified again, the individual must retake and pass the appropriate exam.

For CPPs recertifying for the first time, the recertification period begins the day certification is attained through December 31, five full calendar years later.
