Carry Over Credits
Michigan CPA has to take a minimum of 40 hours of credit in a year However excess credit can be carried forward up to 40 hours of CPE in the next year with a maximum of 2 hours in ethics and 8 hours in Accounting & Auditing.
Subject Area Restriction
  • Subjects such as spirituality, personal health and/or fitness, sports and recreations, foreign language, and production which will not contribute directly shall not be allowed.

  • A licensee who does not earn sufficient qualifying hours during the continuing education period may be allowed to renew a license upon reporting 80 qualifying hours and an additional 4 hours of continuing education credit for each month of time needed to remove the deficiency.
