CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR RHODE ISLAND CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUTANTS (CPA)

RHODE ISLAND (RI) CPA CPE REQUIREMENT OVERVIEW

CPE Requirements
120 hours every 3 years
License Renewal Period
July 1 through June 30 Triennially
CPE Reporting Cycle
July 1 through June 30 Triennially
Ethics Requirement
Six (6) hours of ethics in every 3-year renewal period
Carry Over Credits
Rhode Island CPA cannot carry forward credits in the next reporting cycle
Subject Area Restriction
Rhode Island CPA can complete maximum of 24 CPE hours per renewal period in personal development courses.

Rhode Island CPA requires 120 hours of CPE to be completed in every 3-year license renewal period and must be reported to the Board by June 30 Triennially as part of the renewal process

Rhode Island State Board of Accountancy has a mandatory requirement that Rhode Island (RI) CPA has to earn at least 6 hours of CPE in a 3-year renewal period in the subject area of ethics. Regulatory AICPA Ethics, Circular 230 Ethics, or Behavioural Ethics all subject areas are approved for qualifying as ethics.
