MARC S. MILLER – PRESIDENT, MARC S. MILLER ASSOCIATES

Marc S. Miller is a nationally recognized consultant specializing in technology solutions for Human Resources. He is one of the HR Technology industry’s most recognized, energetic, and creative voices. Drawing on his thought leadership, extensive industry experience, and professional network, Marc provides insight into emerging trends in HR Technology. He is a sought-after speaker and presenter at HR and HCM technology conferences, industry events, and HRMS provider user conferences.


Marc frequently speaks at New York and New Jersey SHRM chapter events and has served as a keynote speaker and mega-session presenter at the New Jersey State Conferences in 2019 and 2024. He provides clients with expertise in HRMS strategy development, needs analysis, detailed Request for Proposal preparation, and vendor evaluation and selection for new or upgraded HR technology initiatives.


Marc is a founding member of the NYC IHRIM Association chapter and received IHRIM’s highest national honor, the Summit Award, in 1995 for his overall contributions to the industry. He is also an Adjunct Professor teaching Human Resources Management and HR Systems in the MBA programs at NYU Tandon School of Engineering and Manhattan University. Overall, Professor Miller has taught Human Resources Management, HR Technology, and Talent Management at the college and university master’s level for more than 13 years.


Marc is the author of three books related to his areas of expertise. His first book, HeroicHR (2012), presents practical steps for positioning the HR function as a strategic business partner within an organization. His second book, The Death of HR: Who Killed H. (Harriet) R. (Rose) Job? – A Cautionary Tale and a Detective Story (2015, 2019), provides insights and actionable ideas for HR professionals seeking greater influence and organizational clout.


His latest published book, Immortal HR: The Death and Resurrection of Ms. H. (Harriet) R. (Rose) Job: How Covid & Workforce Issues Made HR JOB Critical and Indispensable (If Not IMMORTAL)! (2024), has been well received by students and professionals nationwide. Universities have added it to their syllabi as a supplemental text, and AIHR listed the book among its “Top 20 HR Management Books You Must Read in 2025.”


Marc is currently completing the third book in the series, continuing the journey of Ms. Harriet Rose Job (HR JOB). Titled Immortal HR… NO More? with the subtitle Will the Advances in AI Bring Harriet Rose Job (HR JOB) Down to Earth?, the book explores the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the lives and careers of professionals in Human Resources Management and HR Technology. It is scheduled for publication later this fall.


Marc’s myCPE presentation introduces new content related to AI’s impact on HRM and HR Technology. The presentation is designed to be highly engaging and memorable, drawing on the many characters Marc has developed throughout his books. His use of humor, storytelling, and a touch of acting brings the subject to life and makes the topic both entertaining and unforgettable.


Marc is a lifelong New Yorker and lives in White Plains, New York. Outside of consulting, teaching, developing presentations, and performing stand-up, he is an avid racquetball player and photographer.
