Reporting Period

The operative reporting period is each 2-year registration term measured from the date of issuance.

Renew at the end of the 2-year registration term. If registration expires, a reinstatement process and fee may apply, and Maryland law bars an unregistered individual from providing tax preparation services in the State.

Carry Over Credits

Carryforward is not allowed. Extra CPE from one 2-year term does not satisfy the next term.

Record Retention

Keep original course documentation because the Board may verify your certification and request copies. No fixed multi-year retention period is published in the public sources reviewed.
