Opportunity Zone Investments in Real Estate Development Projects 1.5 Credits
Learning mode
This course is valid up to December 31st, 2024 for CFP Professionals. It is advisable to complete this course before that to process the credit on time.
Opportunity Zones were created in 2017 as a federal income tax incentive for investment in economically disadvantaged Census tracts in every state. Â Most OZ investments have been in real estate development projects.
The OZ statute was unique and in many ways vague, leaving many details to be worked out in Treasury Regulations. Proposed Regulations were issued in October 2018 and April 2019, and the Final Regulations were effective from March 2020. Taxpayers and their advisors have adjusted along the way, and best practices for structuring OZ real estate investments continue to evolve.
Join this CE/CPE Tax Webinar to navigate the complexities of OZ investing that can be rewarding for taxpayers, tax advisors, and financial advisors. They needed to know the rules and the pitfalls so they could help their clients take advantage of this powerful tax incentive.
