Learning Objective

  • To know how to connect your bank accounts to your QuickBooks.
  • To classify transactions through the Bank Feed to save time on manual data entry.
  • To review which transactions you should NOT import automatically.
  • To analyze why you should reconcile, reconciliation tips and tricks, and workarounds for bank feed issues.
  • To describe how to Reconcile your bank accounts and credit cards accurately.
  • To explain how to Troubleshoot and remove stray transactions.

Course Overview

Reconciliation is how you confirm that your QuickBooks Online checking accounts, savings accounts, credit cards, and loan balances are correct. If you don’t reconcile correctly every month, your reports will be wrong. The problem is that most businesses reconcile the transactions that ARE on the statement, but ignore the ones that are not.

Even if you use the QuickBooks Online banking feed, it’s not a guarantee that your bank balances are correct. And when you have extra or missing transactions, your Profit and loss, and Balance Sheet are wrong!

That’s not Reconciling, that’s “reconciling,” and the result is that you may be paying your taxes wrong!

In this CPE QuickBooks Webinar, we will show you how to reconcile properly and discuss how to trick out the interface to finish in seconds instead of hours.

Moreover, we will equip you with the skills to identify errors in your accounting data by analyzing their appearance in the Reconciliation window. This approach allows you to use the reconciliation process as a troubleshooting tool to uncover issues such as duplicated entries, misclassified categories, transactions assigned to the wrong funding source, and discrepancies between receipt captures and the banking feed.

Key Topics discussed in this webinar:

  • How do transactions get into QBO?
  • What is Reconciling and how to Reconcile with Window tools?
  • Wrong Starting Balance, Troubleshooting, and Finishing reconciliations
  • Reports and History
  • Undo a reconciliation
  • Corporate credit cards
