What is the value of GDPR to people?
With this part-two segment of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we will explore the inherent value of GDPR from the perspective of people and their data. Addressing fundamental questions such as "Why now?" and examining the fairness, ethics, and compliance aspects of GDPR, we will further discuss the features that make GDPR a crucial framework for safeguarding individual privacy rights.
We will cover how the GDPR is empowering each consumer to take control over his/her data and why it matters, not only to companies but to society as such. At the same time, by reflecting on the value of GDPR to consumers, we can better rationalize how other privacy laws are embracing very similar principles, such as a CCPA, which will be discussed in a different webinar.
