This program is aimed to position the application of the CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct as the foundation for ethical financial planning. To benefit the public by granting the CFP® certification and upholding it as the recognized standard of excellence for competent and ethical personal financial planning. To maintain the value, integrity, and relevance of the CFP® certification CFP Board periodically evaluates its standards. In March 2018, CFP Board issued a Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct that, effective October 1, 2019, replaced the CFP Board’s Terminology, Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct, and Financial Planning Practice Standards. CFP Board has prepared this Ethics CE program to educate CFP® professionals on the new Code and Standards.
