7. Reporting and Deadline

CPAs must submit their credit reports on schedule. At the end of every 2-year renewal period in the month of June 30th, CPAs in Florida must complete their 80 hours of CPE requirements.

In case of failing the deadline, an extension till 15th September is granted. With the addition of an extension, they must complete an extra 8 hours of Accounting or Auditing CPE, a total of 88 hours credit at submission.

Even if they fail the first extension of 15th September, the second extension is granted till 31st December. But now they have to take an additional 8 hours of CPE, a total of 96 CPE at the time of submission.

8. Minimum CPE Hours Yearly

Florida doesn't require CPAs to complete a minimum number of hours annually. So, if you are a bust professional, you can meet all their 80 CPE credits anytime before the renewal period.

9. Do not choose Nano Learning

Florida doesn't recognize Nano Learning or Blended Learning courses for its CPE requirement. These types of courses won't count towards fulfilling the state's criteria.

Florida CPAs need 80 CPE hours every 2 years, out of which a minimum of 4 hours is required in Florida-specific ethics. 8 hours of CPE must be in the technical subject of accounting or auditing regardless of their professional field. They also have to maintain a limit of a maximum of 20 hours of learning from behavioral subjects.

If a Florida CPA performs audits under the Government Auditing Standards, 2007 Revision, or the Rules of the Auditor General, Chapter 10.550, they must complete at least 24 hours in Governmental CPE.

Florida CPAs must meet their CPE credit requirement by 30th June at every renewal cycle of 2 years.

For the license renewal, the Deadline for FL CPAs is December 31st every 2 years.
