Course Overview

Getting to the heart of the issues in workplace investigations goes beyond just gathering facts; it involves analyzing and interpreting the evidence.

An employer will occasionally need to formally or informally investigate concerns about an employee’s workplace behavior. If your organization has a hotline and other reporting channels to give employees a way to speak up, this is only half the equation.

Investigating and resolving an allegation correctly strengthens and protects your organization. A proper investigation gives management the needed information and a factual basis for its decisions. It also reinforces the fairness of the employee discipline process and your commitment to learning about employee concerns.

The objectives and scope of investigations vary widely, but their overriding purpose is always to find relevant facts.  While each investigation may be unique and handled differently, following standard techniques can help you investigate pretty, transparently, and consistently.

This online webinar covers the following key topics:

  • How to evaluate specific evidence and its value to the investigation findings.
  • The different types of evidence and how much weight an investigator should give it.
  • There are ten factors to consider when determining credibility for a specific piece of evidence.

Join this CPE Course, which explains the legal foundations for investigations. Although these courtroom rules are not binding on workplace investigations, they provide a good foundation for gathering evidence.
