In professional sports, athletes face unique challenges regarding taxation, as their earnings are subject to state and local tax regulations that vary widely across jurisdictions.
Unlike most people who work in a single state, athletes often play in multiple states, resulting in a complex tax situation known as the "jock tax." This nano-learning course will discuss how athletes must pay income tax in every state where they earn income by playing games, creating a heavy tax burden in specific locations. Join this CPE course, we will offer an overview of these issues, equipping attendees with a clearer understanding of the state tax landscape for athletes and strategies to mitigate their tax burdens.
