The General Accounting Office estimates that healthcare fraud costs the US Government between $60 billion and $600 billion annually. The National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association (NHCAA) estimates that financial losses due to healthcare fraud are in the tens of billions yearly. A conservative estimate is 3% of total healthcare expenditures.
