Terms, Policies & Legal Information

Introduction

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Communities. which is operated by the Company (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform. 

The Communities are designed to facilitate professional discussions, knowledge sharing, and networking among individuals in the accounting, tax, finance, and related industries. 

Access to the Communities may be included as part of your continuing education subscription, offered as a standalone feature, or made available through a separate purchase. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and participation in the Communities, whether through the Company’s web or mobile platforms. 

By joining, browsing, posting, or otherwise participating in the Communities, you agree to be bound by these Terms, along with the Company’s Privacy Policy and any additional policies or guidelines referenced herein. These rules apply to all forms of interaction within the Communities and are intended to ensure a respectful, constructive, and compliant environment for all participants. 

Acceptable Conduct

All Users shall maintain decorum consistent with professional standards and ethics. Users must engage respectfully, contribute constructively, and refrain from conduct that may be construed as hostile, disruptive, or injurious to other Users. Compliance with applicable laws, professional standards, and these Terms is mandatory. 

Prohibited Conduct

The following actions constitute a breach of these Terms and are strictly prohibited: 

  • Harassment, discrimination, or any form of abusive behaviour. 
  • Dissemination of false, misleading, defamatory, or obscene material. 
  • Spamming, phishing, solicitation, or unauthorized advertising. 
  • Infringement of intellectual property rights or proprietary content. 
  • Impersonation or misrepresentation of affiliation with any person or entity.

Membership and Participation

Community membership is subject to review, approval, and revocation by the Community Manager, at their sole and absolute discretion. Continued participation is contingent upon adherence to these Terms. Users are encouraged to actively engage and contribute in good faith.

Standards for User-Generated Content

All content submitted by users shall be: 

  • Relevant, accurate, and professionally appropriate. 
  • Free from plagiarism, offensive language, or misleading representations. 
  • Respectful of the rights, dignity, and opinions of others. 

Community Moderation and Role of Administrators

The Community may be moderated by designated community managers, administrators, or moderators (“Moderators”) appointed by the Company. Moderators are authorized to facilitate discussions, promote a safe and respectful environment, enforce these Terms, and take corrective actions when necessary, including but not limited to issuing warnings, removing content, or suspending user access. All decisions made by Moderators regarding the interpretation and enforcement of these Terms shall be final, binding, and not subject to appeal. 

Account Security

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials, including your username and password, and for any and all activities conducted through your account. You agree to notify the Company immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any breach of security. The Company shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this obligation. 

Community Availability and Downtime

While the Company strives to maintain uninterrupted access to the Community, availability may occasionally be limited due to scheduled maintenance, system upgrades, technical failures, or other operational reasons beyond the Company’s control. The Company reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue access to the Community, in whole or in part, at any time. Reasonable efforts will be made to notify users in advance of any planned service interruptions. 

Intellectual Property and Licensing

Users retain ownership of the content they contribute. By submitting content to the Community, users hereby grant the Company a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable, and worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content within the Community and in the Company’s promotional materials, subject to applicable privacy laws. 

Representations and Warranties

By contributing content, users represent and warrant that they possess all necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions to submit such content and that such content does not infringe any third-party rights, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, or confidentiality obligations. 

Content Removal and Enforcement

The Company reserves the absolute right, at its sole discretion, to monitor, review, edit, or remove any user content that it determines, in good faith, to violate these Terms or applicable laws. The Company further reserves the right to issue warnings, suspend, or permanently revoke a user's access to the Community. 

Confidentiality and Privacy

Users are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of all non-public information disclosed within the Community. Users shall not disclose or disseminate any confidential, proprietary, or personally identifiable information shared within the Community unless expressly authorized by the disclosing party. 

Data Use and Sharing

User data, including personal information and submitted content, may be used internally by the Company for community management, performance analysis, and operational improvements. The Company shall process such data in accordance with applicable data protection regulations and its Privacy Policy. 

Reporting Mechanism

Users may report violations of these Terms or inappropriate conduct to the Community Manager. The Company will review such reports confidentially and take appropriate action in its sole discretion. 

No Professional Advice 

The information exchanged within the Community is provided for general informational purposes only and shall not be construed as legal, accounting, tax, or other professional advice. Users should consult appropriate professionals for advice pertaining to their specific circumstances. 

Platform Support

The Community is not a channel for customer service or technical support. Users seeking assistance with the Company’s services or platform should direct their inquiries through the official support channels. 

Feedback and Suggestions

If you submit any feedback, ideas, or suggestions related to the Community or its operations (“Feedback”), you hereby grant the Company a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and incorporate such Feedback for any lawful purpose, including improving the Community or other services offered by the Company. You acknowledge that the Company is under no obligation to compensate you for such Feedback or to maintain its confidentiality.
