Conducting quality workplace investigations has never been more critical. Workers demand more from their employers and demand answers as well.
An employer occasionally needs to formally or informally investigate employee workplace behavior concerns. If your organization has a hotline and other reporting channels to give employees a way to speak up, this is only half the equation.
Investigating and resolving an allegation correctly strengthens and protects your organization. A proper investigation gives management the needed information and a factual basis for its decisions. Meric has personally conducted over 800 internal investigations of fraud and serious workplace misconduct globally. Meric is an adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law. He was an instructor for the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics Academy for ten years, where he taught the module on workplace investigations.
Meric holds Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from New York University. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Professional Certified Investigator, a Certified Financial Crime Specialist, a Certified Information Privacy Professional, and has the Corporate Compliance and Ethics Professional – Fellow designation.
Meric is the author of four books on investigations: The Art of Investigations; In the Arena; Workplace Investigations: Techniques and Strategies for Investigators and Compliance Officers; Investigative Interviewing, and The First Information Is Wrong. He also wrote chapters in the Bribery and Corruption Casebook and The Complete Compliance and Ethics Manual.
