Course Description

Course Description

Purposeful strategic planning is critical to the success of any organization. As a leader, the most important activity of your position is to set and achieve your organization’s annual strategic plan.

One of the best opportunities to align your team around a shared purpose is during your annual strategic planning retreat.

Giving your team's time to step away from their day-to-day routines allows them to focus on the big picture and how they contribute to the overall purpose and mission of the organization.

If you want your staff all on the same page and your non-profit to move forward and grow then you need to make or update your strategic plan.

A good strategic plan pinpoints where your non-profit is now, sets goals for where you want to go, and outlines how to get you there. More than a document sitting in your computer, a well-written strategic plan gives you direction, unites your organization, and gets your non-profit to where you want it to be.

So, how do you get started with strategic planning?

This CPE E-book on How to Run a Strategic Planning Retreat gives you a step-by-step blueprint for running a productive strategic planning retreat that gives you results.

In this E-Book for CPAs the Author Linda Lysakowski has discussed the following major topics:

  • Who needs to be involved in the planning?
  • How to structure an effective plan?
  • How do you implement your plan so that your agency moves ahead?

If you don't know where you're going, you'll be sure to get there. Have a destination. Create a strategic plan. The first step in planning a retreat. In this CPE E-book, we dive into the mechanics of planning that retreat(s).

Learning Objectives

  • To discuss how to best prepare for the plan so that you get the most out of the strategic planning experience.
  • To identify the key stakeholders who should be involved in your retreat.
  • To organize the retreat so that it is productive and leads to real change.
  • To analyze the structure of the plan so that it gets implemented.

This course was helpful and provided an excellent guideline to a successful retreat or leadership offsite. Albeit continuous reference to "Non-profit", this was applicable to corporate setting as well.
