Excess CE credits may not be carried over for more than one calendar year. Carrying forward credits can be done up to a maximum of 25 CE in the case of “Financial Planning” categories.

FP Canada certificants who fail to comply with the CE requirements or CE audit requirements within the stipulated period may be subject to disciplinary action by FP Canada. Misstated or fraudulent reporting of CE credits will be reported to the FP Canada Standards and Enforcement department as a violation of the Standards of Professional Responsibility.

FP Canada certificants are required to attest to the completion of their CE requirements for the calendar year specified on the annual renewal application. You are not required to submit CE supporting documentation at the time of certification renewal, but you must have supporting documentation available in the event of an FP Canada audit. Any excess credits carried over from the previous year may also be subject to audit. It is recommended that you keep all supporting documentation for at least three years.

The FP Retired Status is valid for one year. To maintain the FP Retired status, you must renew your status by March 31 each year. There are no annual Continuing Education (CE) credits requirements to maintain your FP Retired Status.

myCPE provides courses that are approved for continuing education credits by FP Canada. Based on the guidelines issued by these boards regarding Recertification credit hours requirements, we recommend the programs/ webinars to be suitable for CFP professionals specified in each webinar. However, it will be the responsibility of each attendee to ensure that they are eligible for the Continuing Education Credits based on their occupation/ job profile, knowledge requirements as well as guidelines laid down by their regulatory board before registering for the webinars.
