Dedicated Staffing vs Outsourcing vs Managed Offshoring Services (MOS)
Understand Key Differences in Staffing Models: Flexibility, Control, Compliance, and Scalability
Particulars
Dedicated Staffing
Outsourcing
MOS
Model
Dedicated Staffing
Outsourcing
Dedicated Staffing
Under the outsourcing model, you primarily interact with a manager who is your point of contact. This manager has a team working underneath him. While the staff working on your project may rotate, usually there is one consistent staff member assigned. The manager reviews the deliverables before submission and reports progress, timesheets, and updates to you. In the offshore staffing model, you get a dedicated staff member who works directly under your supervision and control, without an intermediary manager. In the MOS model, the setup is similar to offshore staffing but designed for scale. You manage a larger dedicated team with additional support for optimizing structure, efficiency, and performance.
Ideal For Firms
Consistent Workflow
Low Work Flow
Scale Offshoring
The outsourcing model is best suited for firms with low or inconsistent workflows, such as seasonal work or ad hoc projects. Typically, these firms may have one to four team members and need minimal handholding. Offshore staffing is more appropriate for firms with steady workflows, year-round projects, and a team structure that supports delegation. It works well for firms with at least three or more onshore members. The MOS model is tailored for firms aiming to scale their offshore operations as a core part of their business model. It is ideal for firms ready to commit to a team of 10 or more offshore members and looking to integrate offshore delivery into their strategic operations.
Minimum Requirement
1 Full-Time Staff
No Minimum Requirement
10-Full Time Staff
Outsourcing has no minimum requirement; you can start with OnDemand or as little as 10 hours per week. Offshore staffing requires at least one full-time team member. MOS requires a minimum commitment of 10 full-time staff to ensure proper infrastructure, team dynamics, and delivery support.
Staff Interview
To be Done
Not Required
To be Done
In outsourcing, no interview is required as staff are assigned by the manager based on your work requirements. Offshore staffing allows you to interview and select your own dedicated staff. MOS follows the same process as offshore staffing, but for larger teams, additional roles like leads or managers may also be interviewed.
Onboarding - Starting
2 - 6 Weeks
Immediately
2 - 6 Weeks
Outsourcing starts immediately, sometimes within a day or two, as pre-trained resources are already available. Offshore staffing requires 2–6 weeks to onboard, including sourcing, interviews, hiring, and training. MOS follows a similar onboarding window of 2–6 weeks depending on scale and complexity.
Cross Trained Staff
Not Available
Usually Available
Not Available
Outsourcing usually ensures that there is a pool of staff cross-trained on basic tasks, so continuity is easier in case one team member is unavailable. Offshore staffing and MOS do not provide cross-trained staff by default since team members are dedicated.
Training & Handholding Requirement
Necessary
Minimal
Necessary
Outsourcing requires minimal handholding since the manager ensures that processes are followed. In offshore staffing and MOS, training and handholding are more involved initially as staff work directly with you and need to be familiar with your firm’s processes, software, and expectations.
Hiring Hours Flexibility
Full Time
Full-Time/Part-Time
Full Time
Outsourcing provides flexibility to hire on-demand, part-time, or full-time. Offshore staffing is only available full-time, with fixed weekly billing. MOS also operates full-time and at scale.
Learning Curve
Moderate
Faster
Moderate
The outsourcing model allows for a faster ramp-up due to pre-trained and managed resources. Offshore staffing has a moderate learning curve as staff adapt to your workflows. MOS also has a similar curve but with a structured approach to manage performance and growth.
Work Continuity In Staff Absence
Stops
Can Continue
Stops
In outsourcing, continuity is maintained since the manager can assign alternate staff if needed. Offshore staffing and MOS may experience temporary work stoppage in case of staff absence unless back-ups are arranged explicitly.
Replacement of Staff
1 - 5 Weeks
Immediate
1 - 5 Weeks
Outsourcing offers immediate replacement due to a bench of available staff. Offshore staffing and MOS require 1 to 5 weeks to replace a staff member, depending on the role and experience level.
Staff Level
All Levels

Outsourcing is available for Level 1 to Level 4 roles, typically junior to mid-level professionals. Offshore staffing and MOS can support hiring at all levels from junior to leadership roles.

Outsourcing requires only a 2-week notice for disengagement. Offshore staffing and MOS follow a standard 9-week notice period to ensure smooth offboarding and replacement.

Firm's Responsibility
Outsourcing includes a layer of quality review by the manager. In offshore staffing and MOS, the firm is responsible for ensuring quality, which can be enhanced by hiring internal reviewers or subject matter experts.
Fees Revision
Depends
6% Per Annum
6% Per Annum
In the Outsourcing and Managed Offshoring Services models, the annual fee revision is fixed at 6% per annum, providing predictable year-over-year adjustments. In contrast, the Offshore Staffing model follows a performance-linked appraisal system, where fees may increase anywhere between 10% to 25% annually, based on individual staff evaluations and performance outcomes. This flexible revision approach reflects merit-based growth and reward structures built into the dedicated staffing framework.

Note on Fee Calculation:
The team size for determining applicable slabs includes all employees, regardless of whether they are working from home, in a hybrid model, or from the office. If an employee transitions to a full work-from-home setup during the month, the revised (reduced) management fee will be applicable starting the following month. For the month in which the change occurs, the standard office-based management fee remains applicable.
Part-Time Staffing:
While the Managed Offshoring Model is primarily designed to support the hiring and management of full-time staff, we understand that in certain cases, firms may require part-time resources.
To accommodate such requests, the following management fee structure will apply:
Weekly Hours
Applicable Management Fee (%)
10 hours
$40% of the standard monthly fee
20 hours
$65% of the standard monthly fee
Important Note: The intent of transitioning to the Managed Offshoring Model is to build scalable, full-time offshore teams that align with your firm’s long-term growth strategy. Part-time hires are supported only in exceptional or transitional situations.
No Deposit, Termination and Notice Period:
There is no deposit required and no long-term commitment under this agreement. However, in the event that the Client wishes to terminate the agreement in full, a 2-months written notice is required. During this notice period, a pro-rated management fee equivalent to 2 months of the applicable charges shall be payable. This 2-months notice period shall also apply on a per-employee basis. Typically, employees are hired under terms that include a 2-months notice period. In cases wherean employee’s notice period differs, whether shorter or longer, based on the mutuallyagreed employment terms between the Client and the employee, the Client shall beliable for the equivalent fees corresponding to such notice period.
Custom Infrastructure & IT
In the event the Client requires additional infrastructure, IT resources, or customized workspace, such as dedicated manager cabins, multi-monitor setups, or any other specialized facility, such requirements shall be fulfilled subject to feasibility and shall incur additional charges on an actual cost basis. The Service Provider shall providesupporting invoices for the incurred expenses, and the same shall be charged to the Client without markup.
Management Fee Slabs
Once your team size crosses a defined threshold, the reduced management fee ratewill apply only to the employees exceeding that threshold. Employees within thethreshold slab will continue to be billed at the original slab rate.
For example: If your team has 30 employees and the threshold slab is 25:
The first 25 employees will be charged at the standard rate applicable to thatslab (e.g., $899/month for metro locations).
The next 5 employees (i.e., employees 26 to 30) will be billed at the reduced ratefor the next slab (e.g., $849/month for metro locations).
This tiered pricing ensures fairness and reflects economies of scale as your team grows
Fixed Fee and Leave Policy:
The Client shall be charged a fixed monthly fee per staff member, regardless of the staff member’s leave status, subject to the terms of the applicable leave policy. The fixed fee remains payable as long as the staff member is actively employed and has not resigned and been released. In the event a staff member resigns & released or is
terminated during a calendar month, the monthly fee shall be charged on a pro-ratabasis up to the staff member’s final working day.

Should we expand our operations into any additional cities in the future, the details of such expansion, along with the corresponding categorization of those locations, will be publicly announced and published on ourofficial communication channels and webpages. These classifications will be applicable for the purpose of determining associated fees from the date of such publication.
