Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a designation given by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to individuals that pass the Uniform CPA Examination and meet the education and experience requirements. The CPA designation helps enforce professional standards in the accounting industry. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is the highest accounting credential in the United States. CPA ensures global recognition for accounting & finance professionals.
The Board of Accountancy provides assurance to the public that the CPA profession in Nevada operates at the highest level of professional competence through, verification of education and experience credentials.
NEVADA (NV) CPA CPE REQUIREMENT OVERVIEW

All licensed CPAs in Nevada must complete 80 hours of approved
continuing education every 2-year rolling period with a minimum of 20 hours per

Nevada State Board of Accountancy has a mandatory requirement that
Nevada (NV) CPA has to earn at least 4 hours of CPE in subject area of ethics. Regulatory
AICPA Ethics, Circular 230 Ethics or Behavioural Ethics all subject areas are

A Nevada CPA has to complete minimum of 8 hours in courses that focus on
accounting and auditing in each year in which the applicant performed work on
any audit, review, full disclosure compilation or attestation services.

The New Nevada CPA is exempt from fulfilling CPE requirement for the
initial reporting cycle after initial certification.
An applicant for the renewal of a permit to engage in the practice of public accounting must list on the application the number of hours of continuing education completed by the applicant during the previous calendar year. You should keep your copies in case the board performs an audit of your CPE,
you will be responsible for submitting copies of your certificates of
completion and/or verification of courses at the time of the audit. You must
retain your documentation for at least three (3) years after the applicant
files the application.
If you submit your renewal on-line the renewal fee will be $120 for
Nevada CPAs
If you submit your renewal by mail the renewal fee will be $140 for
Nevada CPAs

A Nevada (NV) CPA can complete all 80 CPE credits hours via self-study
courses. i.e., a Nevada (NV) CPA can complete 100% of the required CPE hours
via self-study courses and 40 CPE

A registrant must report, at a minimum, the CPE hours required for the
registration renewal period. Hours that exceed the number required for the
current registration renewal period may not be carried forward to a subsequent
registration renewal period.
